Birth of SwamiPC

SwamiPC

The Birth of SwamiPC

Conceived in London and delivered in Bangalore, SwamiPC was born out of my personal nightmarish experience with the so called top PC manufacturers whose customer services was as disappointing as British weather and whose care for customers was as repulsive as a neighbor from hell.

SwamiPC
is my first business venture in India. I started SwamiPC to provide customers a wide range of choices for IT products and services at one place, which has been absent from Indian market till date.

I created a sensation by breaking away from the traditional brick and mortar way of doing business in India which has remain intact since the age of Kautilya. I launched India's first and only online computer shop www.SwamiPC.in in 2006 which has gain enormous popularity not only in India but all over the world.

The aim of www.SwamiPC.in is to provide customers a wide choices of IT products, PCs, Desktop Computers, Laptops, Printers, and PC Accessories in one place so that they can choose products to meet their requirements and not to become a guinea pig for the dumping of obsolete and outdated products.

My mission is to provide customer the products which they want and not to force customer to purchase what we sell. What I just said would be more clear if you study the Indian market more closely. When you wish to purchase any product, the first thing you will realize that you have no choice but to purchase what the sellers have to sell. For instance if you like a Desktop PC which comes with a 60GB of Hard disk and you wish to get 180GB instaed then it is impossible for the manufacturer to change the spec of product on your demand instantly.

In our case we create products to meet customer's demand instantly.

Spiritual Business
I'm the first and only businessman in the history who is infusing the spirituality into business.
What could have been a better idea than to give products the name from Mahabharata.
I've chosen Mahabharata over all other as it is more relevant today than any other epic. Mahabharata is real, it has got all the aspect of modern life and hence it was a natural choice.

"Namakarana" - The Naming ceremony
When I was in the process of launching SwamiPC business I faced the dilemma for the naming of products. I kept juggling various names from Mahabharata and playing around with them but I couldn't come up with a solution to name the SwamiPC products.

I needed a fresh air and touch of consumerism to come up with suitable names. Where else you would go than to Oxford street to feel the pulse of consumerism, so I decided to take a stroll on Oxford street and it was during that stroll that I was struck with the idea to use Pandava brothers, and other main characters to name the products.

If they can have FCUK, DKNY and such nameless names then why can't I have the names from Mahabharata.

By using these names I'm trying to revive our forgotten culture, which is fast becoming rara avis and soon will be forgotten forever.

Pandava Series of Home Desktop PCs
The 5 customized Home PCs, which I created for Home users are named after Pandva brothers from the Mahabharata.
Yudhishthira, Bhim, Arjun, Nakul and Sahdev are 5 desktop PCs which are the first range of products which launched under SwamiPC brand.

Business PCs
I've created 2 business PCs Karna and Eklvya, which are customized to suit business/professional requirements.

Home Entertainment System - Bhishma
Bhishma is TV, Radio and Computer all in one system. Powered with state of the art TV tuner card, Excellent Graphics card and 17" TFT monitor, this system is the ultimate choice for those people who have space constraints and can't afford to have TV.

The Gaming PC - Shakuni
Shakuni was the master of gaming in Mahabharata and hence this name was most appropriate for the Gaming PC.

The Cheapest Desktop PCs in India
Despite doing our business in one of the costliest city in India, Bangalore, our products are cheapest in the market in that segment. Cost is the most important factor in India for the customers. Keeping this in mind we have always managed to keep the cost down.

5 Years of warranty
We are the first any only vendor in whole world, which offers 5 years of warranty on Desktop PCs. This is the most important achievement for me. Had I given this offer in England I would have become a sensation. But in India where the support is considered to be a luxury and cost factors overshadows the support, it would take some time for Indian customer to awake and realize what they are being offered.

Offering 5 years of warranty is not a joke by any means, it is quite a courageous and bold step which even most daring entrepreneur would hesitate to even think about it let alone to implement.

Free Delivery in Bangalore
We offer free delivery of all products in Bangalore City limits, which is another sensation and quite an attractive offer for customers.

Excellent Customer Support
What better example I can give than to say that we have gone to customers as far as 30+ km away to replace a small component as RAM. Such is our dedication for customer support.

Flexible Finance Options
Providing a flexible finance options to customers was one of my dream which I finally managed to implement. I provide excellent finance options to my customers and makes a great business sense. The cost of IT products in India is quite high with respect to the average earnings. To provide a comparison, the cost of a typical Desktop PC would be about Rs. 20,000/- which is a month's salary for the highly paid professionals. The same Desktop PC in England would cost about £300 which is just 10 days of earning with minimum wage rate.

I didn't stop there, opening my heart more I offered customers a document-less procedure to avail the finance options.

And thus I became the first IT entrepreneur in the history to offer finance options to customer on my own burden. I still continue to offer finance options on my own despite having a collaboration with a leading financial institution. Customer pr4efer our finance option as it doesn't involve a complex procedure.

I've gone to extremes to offer the finance options even for corporate customers for bulk purchase which is quite an unthinkable options even for the richest IT companies in India.

To sum up I offer customer a 0% Interest EMI options with very minimal down payment and flexible term. I charge no processing fee, no other handling charges and customer can repay anytime they want.

Referral and Commission offer
Pulling another first SwamiPC became the first PC vendor in India to offer referral scheme and commission for sales. Normally such kind of offer in India are ignored as being rip off which is more or less true. A genuine and real referral and commission offer is much more difficult to conceive than you can imagine.

I'm socialist in heart with capitalist makeup, communist blood, and Spiritual Bhartiya soul.

And that is why I like to share my profits with my own country men even in the age of utter greediness and cut throat competition to become rich.

The referral and commission offer is gaining momentum and people have started to make notice of it.

In few words these two schemes offer any one to earn money without doing anything. In the referral scheme all you have to do is to refer to us anyone who might be interested in buying products from us and you will get paid as soon as we have sold to that customer.
You can be anywhere, India, USA, UK or any part of world as long as the customer is India.

For commission offer you need to sell our products and get paid for it.

http://www.swamipc.in/ - The internet Revolution
The hands which feed the dot com revolution forgot to feed itself. Yes this is true, you might end up in thinking that Indians would be quite good in playing with the new edge revolution called the Internet but it is quite opposite. The Internet revolution has not touched India yet. I was very surprised to learn that there was not even a single online shop for IT products in India when I was launching my online shop and hence I got the privilege to put the title "
India's first and only Online Computer Shop" for SwamiPC.

It would take another decade or so to change the mindset of Indian customers. Indians like to see, touch and feel the product before they can buy. This is to do with their society, culture and not to mention the cost factor. Another factor which discourages Indians to buy online is the bargaining. Indians love to bargain, it is a game which they love to indulge. Online doesn't give them an opportunity to bargain and hence it doesn't seem to be quite attractive to them.

SwamiPC has received quite good feedback from the NRI community abroad. NRIs living in USA/UK or other countries buy products online, pay online and get it delivered to their home in India.

Future of SwamiPC
I'm planning to open SwamiPC branches in all main metro cities followed by other big cities in near future. Plan is to start from the South of India and then move towards North. I, personally, don't believe in franchise concept and I want to have my own chain of SwamiPC retail shops across India. I received quite a lot of inquiries from a dealers requesting me to offer them dealership which I'm completely reluctant to do so. I don't want to compromise with the quality of products and services.

"
The longer the chain is the weaker it becomes" is my saying. The quality starts going down with number of links you add in the business chain.

Manufacturing base
"1.2 billion of population and we can't manufacture an insignificant item like computer"
is the thought which keeps on haunting me day by day like a nightmare. Our neighbor, with 100m more population than ours, dominate the IT hardware manufacturing market and can do nothing but just watch and see time pass by. I don't believe in any of the excuses given by my country men. Corrupt and incompetent politicians, world's worst infrastructure or any so on don't highlight the real issue.

Problems are everywhere, in each and every developed country you can find corrupt politicians only the degree of corruption varies. Not all of developed countries have autobahns, USA roads were worse than Bangalore's before they got Interstate Highways, but even than they were on the path of evolution.
The real issue is
the lack of will power, lack of determination, lack of courage to overcome all obstacles and a lay back attitude to the life which stops us to evolve further.

Though I've seen some efforts going on but that is not sufficient enough to bring a resolution.
I, being a revolutionary, don't accept anything which less than revolution. I'm determined to make India a manufacturing base and I know i'm going to do it sooner or later. SwamiPC is just the beginning the culmination of which would be the IT manufacturing powerhouse.
